Get To Know The Artist
Julie Lee was raised in a family with heavy musical influences. Her father, Dino Airali produced Phoebe Snows "Poetry Man" Album and worked with greats like Leon Russell, George Harrison, Tom Petty, Joe Cocker, JJ cale, discovered Melissa Etheridge and many more. At a young age Julie was encouraged to write down feelings and experiences and having listened and been inspired by the many albums brought home, Julie sought the music school of Dick Grove Music. She attended a 3 year program focusing on theory and piano. Shortly after, she aligned herself with a band, The Ventilators, and performed in venues from the Santa Monica Civid Auditorium as far as Japan playing the Budokan in Tokyo for 10,000 people. Julie landed work singing background vocals at the house of Michael Jackson as they found her voice raw and authentic. She then got signed to EMI Records as a band member and background singer for Foster Sylvers. Julie Lee has had eclectic influences from blues, rock, soul, and southern country rock. She writes and performs songs in a solo acoustic set, duo set, and with her band, The Julie Lee Band. She and the band have opened for many acts since 2019 for the Canyon Club Concert Events such as Jefferson Starship, Blood, Sweat, & Tears, The Little River Band, Naked Eyes, and many more. Capacities have ranged from 500-5000. Julie Lee also performed in a trio band at the Montery Fair Festival, Cow Palace, and others.
